Studies on the production relations of deciduous forests of semi-arid zone of Rajasthan (India) : plant biomass and net production of Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub

, : Studies on the production relations of deciduous forests of semi-arid zone of Rajasthan (India) : plant biomass and net production of Butea monosperma (Lamk.) Taub. Forstwissenschaftliches Centralblatt 91(6): 357-364

Twenty trees with 32 to 87 growth rings and of nine different b.h. girths from the Aravalli hills were analysed. Girth showed linear correlations with number of growth rings and with total dry weight, which ranged from ca. 14 to 83 kg/tree. No correlation between girth and stem height was found, and correlations with stem volume were not linear. The most rapid increase in total, and especially in bole, biomass occurred between the growth rings 42 and 52.
