Studies on the productivity of vegetable crops under a plastic greenhouse. VIII. Early growth of cucumber plants at various levels of soil salt concentration in different growing seasons

, : Studies on the productivity of vegetable crops under a plastic greenhouse. VIII. Early growth of cucumber plants at various levels of soil salt concentration in different growing seasons. Bulletin of the Horticultural Research Station, B Okitsu (12): 153-162

Plants were grown in pots containing 3 kg soil for five 5-week periods commencing on 23 March, 26 April, 6 June, 1 September and 6 November, when average soil temperatures were 13-18, 20-22, 22-26, 22-27 and 10-19 deg C, respectively. They were sub-irrigated and given 6, 6, 4 and 4 g/pot, respectively, of (NH4)2SO4, superphosphate, KCl and lime or were fertilized at twice or thrice these rates.
