Studies on the quality of citrus fruits. II. Studies on the translocation of 14C-labelled compounds from leaves to fruit in satsumas

, : Studies on the quality of citrus fruits. II. Studies on the translocation of 14C-labelled compounds from leaves to fruit in satsumas. Nippon Nogei Kagaku Kaishi 47(11): 733-735

14CO2 was supplied to a leaf peduncle on 25 July and the leaf, stem and fruit were analysed for neutral, cationic and anionic 14C some 5h after absorption. The neutral fraction of the stem was 105 times as active as the anionic fraction and the cationic fraction was intermediate; the neutral fraction contained similar amounts of labelled glucose and fructose but labelled sucrose was not detected.
