Studies on the quantity of litter and its decomposition in the forests of Hungary

, : Studies on the quantity of litter and its decomposition in the forests of Hungary. Erdeszeti Kutatasok 67(2): 131-143

Tabulates the quantities (dry weight/ha) of (a) fresh litter from the previous leaf fall, and (b) old litter, in litter samples taken in spring from 23 stands of 15 native forest associations and 3 types of plantation (Robinia or conifers). The proportion of (b) was highest in dry forests (and in plantations) and very low in the Fraxino-Alnetum and other associations on moist soils.
