Studies on the radiation breeding of forest trees

, : Studies on the radiation breeding of forest trees. Acta Radiobotanica et Genetica Hoshasen Ikushujo Kenkyu Hokoku (2): 102

Seeds of Pinus sylvestris, P. densiflora and Cryptomeria japonica were subjected to X-ray or gamma -ray treatments. Seeds of P. sylvestris and P. densiflora from different sources varied in their radiosensitivity. In C. japonica, selfed seeds were more radiosensitive than crossed or open-pollinated seeds, and a recessive gene for light-green foliage also increased radiosensitivity in the homozygotes.
