Studies on the rapid propagation of dwarf apple trees by greenwood grafting

, : Studies on the rapid propagation of dwarf apple trees by greenwood grafting. Journal of the Korean Society for Horticultural Science 15(1): 72-78

Greenwood (softwood) grafting was carried out using the apple Megumi on Malus baccata rootstock with MM.106 interstock. The process is described diagrammatically. A hardwood graft of MM.106 on M. baccata is made in early spring and the plants are earthed-up above the graft union. The resulting MM.106 shoot is cut back to 25 cm above the graft union and the softwood graft is made in early summer by cleft grafting with the Megumi scion.
