Nishikawa, G.; Kagawa, K.; Chin, T., 1972: Studies on the rationalization of the production of jute and similar fibre crops. 7. Decrease in the inorganic components of the pith and xylem of jute during water retting. Japanese Journal of Tropical Agriculture 15(4): 223-225
Decreases in the inorganic components of the pith and xylem of leafless raw stalks of jute during retting in water were investigated. N content declined markedly during the 1st 15 days and thereafter declined slowly. Ca, P and K contents fell markedly during the 1st 7-15 days and thereafter the rate declined more slowly, but that of Mg decreased linearly from the 7th day.
