Studies on the relations between forest and torrential floods

, : Studies on the relations between forest and torrential floods. Revista Padurilor 87(10): 475-479 + smries.

A statistical study of correlations was made on physiographic, hydrographic and forest data for the upper basins of the Somes, Mures, Olt and Putna rivers in NW Rumania, which suffered catastrophic floods in May 1970 after unusually heavy and prolonged rains over a wide area, in order to account for the apparent lack of mitigating influence from the forest cover.
