Studies on the relationship between the density of lac insect, Kerria lacca (Kerr.) (Homoptera: Coccidae) and Chalcid parasitisation

, : Studies on the relationship between the density of lac insect, Kerria lacca (Kerr.) (Homoptera: Coccidae) and Chalcid parasitisation. Indian Journal of Entomology 1972; 33(2): 180-182

Studies were carried out in India on the relation between the population density of the lac insect Kerria lacca (Kerr) on kusum trees (Schleichera oleosa) and parasitism by Chalcidoids (which included Tetrastichus purpureus (Cam.), Eupelmus tachardiae (How.), Erencyrtus dewitzii Mahdn., Tachardiaephagus tachardiae (How.), and Coccophagus tschirchi Mahdn.) at Maheshpur-Sirka, Bihar, India. The percentage parasitism decreased as the Coccid population increased, and increased as the crop matured.
