Studies on the relative efficiencies of soil and foliar application of urea on brinjal (Solanum melongena L.)

, : Studies on the relative efficiencies of soil and foliar application of urea on brinjal (Solanum melongena L.). Technology 8(3-4): 261-264

In a 2-year field experiment the effects on 2 varieties of up to 120kg N/ha, half applied initially to the soil and half in 6 split applications to the soil or as a 1% foliar spray, were studied. Maximum yields were generally obtained with the soil treatment of 80kg N/ha and with the foliar treatment of 40kg N/ha; the latter treatment gave up to about a 40% greater response than the equivalent soil treatment.
