Studies on the resistance of a tree to lateral forces (I)

, : Studies on the resistance of a tree to lateral forces (I). Journal of the Japanese Forestry Society 55(11): 334-340

Data on the resistance of a tree to lateral forces are important not only for checking the safety of a standing tree or a stump used as the anchor of a skyline cable system, but also for designing a shelterbelt or planning the successful uprooting of a tree. The author has attempted to devise an analytical method for determining the resistance of a tree theoretically.
