Studies on the resistance of sweet chestnut trees to chestnut gall wasps (Dryocosmus kuriphilus). V. Cytokinin activity in larvae of gall wasps and callus formation in chestnut stem sections induced by larval extracts

, : Studies on the resistance of sweet chestnut trees to chestnut gall wasps (Dryocosmus kuriphilus). V. Cytokinin activity in larvae of gall wasps and callus formation in chestnut stem sections induced by larval extracts. Journal of the Japanese Society for Horticultural Science 43(4): 415-422

An extract from larvae of D. kuriphilus was applied at different rates to stem portions of the susceptible NE-17 and resistant Ginyose on basal media. Callus formation, in both cvs, increased almost in proportion to the extract concentration and there was no difference between cvs in the amount of callus produced at a given concentration.
