Seed yields of Kitamishiro soya bean and Phaseolus angularis 'Takara' were influenced more by air than by soil temperatures. Ph. vulgaris 'Taishokinoki' was damaged more when temperature differences between air and soil were large. Ph. vulgaris 'Otebo' was only marginally affected by temperature treatments.
