Studies on the respiration intensity, catalase activity and sugar and ascorbic acid contents of some kohl-rabi cultivars

, : Studies on the respiration intensity, catalase activity and sugar and ascorbic acid contents of some kohl-rabi cultivars. Kerteszeti Egyetem Kozlemenyei 1972; 35(3): 5-16

The early kohl-rabi cvs Wiener Blau, Prazske Bile, Szentesi Feher, Roggli and Soroksari Feher were used. Maximum respiration intensity was recorded at 35 deg C, with a temperature coefficient varying from 3.42 at low to 1.64 at high temperatures. Leaf catalase activity between 1 and 10 min showed an even rise only at 15 deg. Both respiration intensity and catalase activity increased from the lower to the higher leaves.
