Studies on the retention, penetration and translocation of asulam in some perennial weed species

, : Studies on the retention, penetration and translocation of asulam in some perennial weed species. Proceedings of the 11th British Weed Control Conference: 77-83

Experiments indicate that asulam retention by monocotyledonous weeds (Agropyron repens and Sorghum halepense) is increased by the addition of wetter to the spray solution and that this is accompanied by increased herbicidal activity. This increase in activity appears to be largely due to the higher quantity of herbicide received and to the increased quantity reaching the leaf axils. Application of a standard quantity to the axils of A. repens gave greater activity than application to laminae.
