Studies on the rhizosphere microflora of onion plants in relation to temperature changes

, : Studies on the rhizosphere microflora of onion plants in relation to temperature changes. Soil Biology and Biochemistry 5(3): 315-320

In onion plants grown under controlled conditions at 16 deg C, there was a very small rhizosphere effect for bacteria, compared with that for plants grown at 25 deg C. Rhizosphere bacteria isolated from seedlings grown at 25 deg C were more active physiologically than those from seedlings grown at 16 deg C. In particular, ammonifying bacteria were greatly increased in the rhizosphere of plants grown at 25 deg C.
