Studies on the root system of apple trees grafted on different rootstocks

, : Studies on the root system of apple trees grafted on different rootstocks. Gradinarska i Lozarska Nauka 11(8): 14-22

The root distribution was studied in 7-year-old trees Red Delicious grafted on M.9 or M.7 clonal rootstocks or Holland Red Seedling rootstocks. The majority of the roots of trees on the clonal rootstocks were found in the 10-30 cm soil layer and of those on the seedling rootstocks in the 20-40 cm layer.
