Studies on the root-lesion nematodes associated with successive growth failure of chrysanthemum. 1. Occurrence of the nematode and the failure in chrysanthemum-growing areas in Shizuoka

, : Studies on the root-lesion nematodes associated with successive growth failure of chrysanthemum. 1. Occurrence of the nematode and the failure in chrysanthemum-growing areas in Shizuoka. Japanese Journal of Nematology 3: 19-24

During 1971-72, the relationship between soil populations of Pratylenchus sp., control measures and growth failure of chrysanthemum was studied at 3 locations in Shizuoka, Japan. In the Hamamatsu area, growth retardation and acute wilting followed heavy rainfall, but fields which had been deeply tilled were little affected, as were those in which Pratylenchus sp. populations were low; chloropicrin treatment reduced the populations but did not apparently result in good growth.
