Studies on the rooting of shoot explants of Olea europaea cv. Ogliarola di Monopoli grown in vitro

, : Studies on the rooting of shoot explants of Olea europaea cv. Ogliarola di Monopoli grown in vitro. Rivista della Ortoflorofrutticoltura Italiana 58(6): 419-436

Rooting ability was confined to segments of 1-3-year-old shoots; 5-6-year-old material produced only callus. Inclusion of NAA and sucrose in the medium (Knop's) were essential for rooting and optimum rates were 10-6 mg/l and 8-10% respectively. Time of taking the cutting did not affect root or callus formation. All cuttings produced callus and roots from the part immersed in the medium whether this was the distal or the proximal end.
