Studies on the sandflies collected indoors in Aurangabad district Maharashtra state (Diptera: Psychodidae)

, : Studies on the sandflies collected indoors in Aurangabad district Maharashtra state (Diptera: Psychodidae). Indian Journal of Medical Research 59(10): 1565-1571

Regular collections of Phlebotomids were made in houses in the town of Aurangabad, Mahashtra State, India, in 1970 in order to determine the seasonal prevalence and hosts of the species present. Phlebotomus papatasi (Scop.) formed 93.7% of the 18 103 flies collected, the other species being P. argentipes Annan. & Brun., Sergentomyia punjabensis (Sinton), S. babu (Annan.), S. bailyi (Sinton) and (1 example only) S. squamipleuris (Newst.).

The hypothesis that these two factors may underlie the regulation of voltage-gated K+ channel expression in...

The rate of development of larvae and pupae is correlated with soil temperature and humidity. Growth of eggs and larvae in flower buds of alfalfa depends on temperature conditions. Insufficient soil humidity hinders pupation and results in a high...
