1. The subjects of study were 4 male calves aged 18 months, 2 Murrah buffalo and 2 Hariana zebu, each with a permanent unilateral parotid cannula. The calves were kept in stalls and were offered 1 kg of a concentrate fortified with 2.5% NaCl in the morning and the same in the afternoon and 2 kg green grass at noon.
