Yamamoto, T.; Yamahata, K., 1972: Studies on the selection forest of Akamatsu (P densiflora) in Kikuma-cho (11). Amount of litter-fall and the seasonal variation. Bulletin of the Ehime University Forest (9): 1-9
The amount of litter that fell in (a) a P. densiflora stand in Shikoku in which there had been selective felling, and (b) a similar stand in which there had been no felling, was measured monthly for three years. The estimated total annual litter fall was 4.1 tons/ha in (a) and 4.5 tons in (b); this included 2.3 and 2.2 tons/ha of leaf-fall, 0.4 and 0.5 tons/ha of branch-fall, and 0.9 and 1.42 million seeds/ha of seed-fall in (a) and (b) respectively.
