, : Studies on the sexual behavior of the female purebred Holstein Friesian in Egypt. III. Post-partum heat interval and gestation period length. Alexandria Journal of Agricultural Research 21(1): 11-14

For 202 Holstein-Friesian cows aged 2.8-8 yr, the service period averaged 65.07 days, ranging from 57.48 in summer to 74.39 in winter, the difference being significant. For uniparous females , the service period averaged 72.85 days v 60.28 in multiparous females , the difference being significant. Gestation length decreased from 279.5 days for 1st pregnancies to 276.4 days for 4th and later pregnancies.
