Studies on the shoot-borer Hypsipyla grandella. VIII. Susceptibility of the larva to the fungi Beauveria bassiana and B. tenella

, : Studies on the shoot-borer Hypsipyla grandella. VIII. Susceptibility of the larva to the fungi Beauveria bassiana and B. tenella. Turrialba 21(4): 451-454

Purified spores were tested for pathogenicity against larvae of H. grandella reared on a synthetic diet. Larvae immersed for 1 min in a suspension of spores showed 13.9% mortality with B. bassiana at a concentration of 1.4 X 106 viable spores/ml, and 12.7% mortality with B. tenella at 2.9 X 106 viable spores/ml.
