Studies on the shootborer Hypsipyla grandella Zeller. (Lep., Pyralidae). XIV. Susceptibility of first instar larvae to Bacillus thuringiensis

, : Studies on the shootborer Hypsipyla grandella Zeller. (Lep., Pyralidae). XIV. Susceptibility of first instar larvae to Bacillus thuringiensis. Turrialba 22(4): 467-468

In this further part of a series from Costa Rica (see preceding abstract, etc.) it is stated that when first-instar larvae of Hypsipyla grandella (Zell.) were confined on an artificial diet into which overnight cultures of Bacillus thuringiensis var. thuringiensis or B. thuringiensis var. entomocidus had been incorporated, considerable mortality (up to 96%) was obtained with the highest concentration tested.
