, : Studies on the significance of reovirus infections in respiratory diseases of horses. Zentralblatt fur Veterinarmedizin 21B(Heft 4): 219-233

The HI test for antibodies against reovirus serotypes I, II and III was carried out on 415 individual and 184 paired serum samples from horses with respiratory disease and healthy horses in Germany, Netherland, England and Belgium. Of the individual samples 23% were positive for serotype I, 7% for II and 50% for III. In 15.7% of the paired samples from German horses there was a more than fourfold rise in titre; in Dutch horses the percentage was 8; only serotypes I and III were involved.
