Studies on the soil adaptability of warm-season grasses. 2. Effect of phosphorus levels in mineral soil on the early growth of Bermuda grass and Dallis grass

, : Studies on the soil adaptability of warm-season grasses. 2. Effect of phosphorus levels in mineral soil on the early growth of Bermuda grass and Dallis grass. Bulletin of the Shikoku Agricultural Experiment Station (28): 75-87

Application of N and especially P promoted tiller development and leaf blade elongation in (a) Bermuda grass and (b) Dallis grass. At early tillering leaf blade contents of N and P2O5 were 5.5 and 1.4%, respectively, in (a) and 4.2 and 0.9% in (b). Tillering was highly positively correlated with number of leaves and length of main stem leaf blades. The first tiller appeared at about leaf number 4-6 and the 2nd at leaf number 6-7.

Background. Bjork-Shiley convexo-concave heart valves have an increased risk of mechanical failure. One might consider prophylactic rereplacement as a preventive measure to avert the disastrous consequences of these failures. We investigated the e...
