Studies on the specific weight of apple and pear fruits

, : Studies on the specific weight of apple and pear fruits. Chetirideset Godini Institut po Ovoshcharstvo v Kyustendil 1929-1969: 155-161

The specific weight was measured of apples and pears from orchards at 480 and 950 m above sea level in 1965-1967. The specific weight, determined hydrostatically, varied between 0.7459 and 0.8897 for apples, and 0.9842 and 1.0154 for pears. Positive correlations were established between specific weight, height above sea level and soluble solids content. Specific weight and fruit volume were negatively correlated.
