Studies on the spermatogenesis in European bison and domestic cattle hybrids

, : Studies on the spermatogenesis in European bison and domestic cattle hybrids. Acta Theriologica 16: 449-464

Spermatogenesis was studied in 3 F1 and 12 B1 (3/4-cattle, 1/4-bison) males. In the F1 hybrids, spermatogenesis was arrested at the spermatogonial or primary spermatocyte stage. In 3 of the B1 males , spermatogenesis was arrested at the spermatogonial or primary spermatocytes stage, in 5 at the secondary spermatocyte stage, and in 3 other individuals spermatozoa were present.
