Studies on the storage of melons. I. Varietal differences in changes in respiration and the production of ethylene and volatiles during ripening

, : Studies on the storage of melons. I. Varietal differences in changes in respiration and the production of ethylene and volatiles during ripening. Bulletin of the Yamagata University, Agricultural Science Yamagata Daigaku Kiyo, Nogaku 7(1): 253-260

Studies of fruit of two varieties stored at 20 deg C showed that Raifu produced greater amounts of volatile compounds, had a higher respiration rate and produced more ethylene during ripening than Earl's Favourite.
