Studies on the structure of wood by X-ray. III. On the correction of results of X-ray measurement in symmetrical reflection method of diffractometer under various measuring conditions

, : Studies on the structure of wood by X-ray. III. On the correction of results of X-ray measurement in symmetrical reflection method of diffractometer under various measuring conditions. Mokuzai Gakkaishi Journal of the Japan Wood Research Society 20(7): 297-305

The linear X-ray absorption coefficients of woods can be calculated from their mass absorption coefficients and density. Equations are given for applying corrections to compensate for the intensity scattered by the air and by the sample holder. Other corrections relating to the thickness and width of the specimen are discussed.
