Studies on the suitable methods and treatments of breeding Taxodium distichum Rich seedlings

, : Studies on the suitable methods and treatments of breeding Taxodium distichum Rich seedlings. Agricultural Research Review, Egypt 50(5): 177-187

Germination of seeds from mature trees from several locations in Egypt was increased from ca. 13 to 20% after soaking the seeds in water for 2 days. Sowing seeds in beds rather than in pots also improved germination. After 2 years, height and diameter growth of seedlings transplanted singly into pots were significantly better than for seedlings grown in pairs.
