The effects of annual ring angle and grain angle on the swelling pressure in the radial-tangential, longitudinal-tangential and longitudinal-radial planes are shown graphically for Chamaecyparis obtusa. Some data are given for five other Japanese species. Comparisons were made between swelling pressures with free lateral movement and with lateral restraint.Other references
