Studies on the systematic position, biology and transmission of Trypanosomatids found in Zelus leucogrammus (Perty, 1834) (Hemiptera, Reduviidae)

, : Studies on the systematic position, biology and transmission of Trypanosomatids found in Zelus leucogrammus (Perty, 1834) (Hemiptera, Reduviidae). Revista de Patologia Tropical 2(2): 223-274

The results are given of a comprehensive study of the Trypanosomatids found in Zelus leucogrammus (Perty), a common Reduviid that preys on other insects, mainly Musca domestica L., Sarcophagids and Calliphorids, in Brazil. Most of the experimental material was collected in Minas Gerais in 1971-72, but some came from the States of Goias and Santa Catarina. Among the Trypanosomatids found, only one is thought to be characteristic of the Reduviid.
