Results obtained by growing four winter varieties at two centres showed that there was considerable variation in relation to place of cultivation for the chemical characters studied. Odesskaya Yubileinaya 50 and Caracal 1138 had better technological characteristics than Hordeiforme 1522 and Apulicum 233.
