In pot trials, uptake of inorganic P by rice seedlings was correlated with soil P complexed with Al or Fe. There was a significant negative correlation between P and Ca contents of rice seedlings and a positive correlation between soil available Ca and plant Ca contents. In 20 types of soil there were significant correlations between soil OM, P, K and Ca contents and plant N, P, K and Ca contents, respectively.
