Studies on the thrips (Thysanoptera) species most commonly occurring on cereals in Finland

, : Studies on the thrips (Thysanoptera) species most commonly occurring on cereals in Finland. Annales Agriculturae Fenniae 9: 191-265

Much of the information in this detailed account of investigations carried out in 1960-69 on the bionomics and abundance of thrips on cereals in Finland has already been noticed. During rearing in the laboratory, on seedlings of cereals or pasture grasses in pots, females of Limothrips denticornis (Hal.) inserted their eggs singly into the lower part of the sheaths, and overwintered individuals laid 58-142 eggs each in 14-33 days.
