Studies on the tolerance of aquatic insects to low oxygen concentrations

, : Studies on the tolerance of aquatic insects to low oxygen concentrations. Great Basin Naturalist 34(1): 45-59

Acute short-term (96-h) tests were conducted of the relative susceptibility of 20 species of aquatic insects to low oxygen concentrations. Larvae of Simulium vittatum Zett. were intermediate in susceptibility compared with nymphs of various species of Plecoptera, Ephemeroptera and Trichoptera.
