Studies on the translocation of 45Ca in the apple tree. III. Ca leaching during the growing season

, : Studies on the translocation of 45Ca in the apple tree. III. Ca leaching during the growing season. Gartenbauwissenschaft 39(2): 161-171

The Ca losses from tree crowns, caused by precipitation, were assessed during the growing season in which 45Ca was supplied via the tree roots. Leaching was related to the total precipitation per time unit and to its distribution during the growing season. Ca loss in the leachate from the crowns was relatively small (about 8%) in relation to the content in the leaves at the end of the vegetation period.
