Studies on the translocation of photosynthates in satsuma orange. I. Effect of summer cycle shoot and bearing fruit on the translocation and distribution of 14C
Kadoya, K.; Tanaka, H., 1972: Studies on the translocation of photosynthates in satsuma orange. I. Effect of summer cycle shoot and bearing fruit on the translocation and distribution of 14C. Journal of the Japanese Society for Horticultural Science 41(1): 23-28
After 1-year-old satsuma trees had assimilated 14CO2 for 12 h a high concentration of fixed 14C occurred in the summer cycle shoots, but if these shoots were removed before assimilation the 14C activity of the roots and the older leaves was increased. In 4-year-old trees the total 14C activity in the fruits increased with the number of fruit present but the activity/unit weight of fruit fell.
