Studies on the treatment of young housed cattle with thiabendazole

, : Studies on the treatment of young housed cattle with thiabendazole. Behandlungsversuche mit Thiabendazol bei aufgestallten Jungrindern: 44

In a study involving 257 steers, infected subclinically with Ostertagia ostertagi and Cooperia oncophora, on a farm in North Germany, the effect of thiabendazole treatment during the winter housing period of 1966/67 was investigated and the results analysed by data processing. Treatment was given at 50, 75, 100 or 200 mg/kg body-weight during weeks 4, 8 or 12 after housing. A highly significant negative correlation between faecal egg production and steer weight was found.
