Studies on the trematode parasites of reptiles found in India. Contribution to our knowledge of the family Pronocephalidae Looss, 1902

, : Studies on the trematode parasites of reptiles found in India. Contribution to our knowledge of the family Pronocephalidae Looss, 1902. Rivista di Parassitologia 33(2): 99-124

Pronocephalus mehrai n.sp. from Caretta caretta differs from P. obliquus, Looss 1899, the only other species in the genus, in having excretory arms which unite over the oesophagus. P. obliquus of Mehra, 1939 is identical with the new species. Cricocephalus indicus n.sp. from Chelone mydas is closest to Cricocephalus resectus, but differs from it in the more anterior position of the vitellaria, the position of the genital pore, the straight intestinal caeca and the undemarcated cirrus sac.
