Studies on the ultrastructure of the Fallopian tube: Part I. Changes in the ciliated cells of the rabbit Fallopian tube during ovum transport

, : Studies on the ultrastructure of the Fallopian tube: Part I. Changes in the ciliated cells of the rabbit Fallopian tube during ovum transport. Indian Journal of Experimental Biology 12(2): 115-122

Ultrastructural studies of the ciliated cells of the ampulla and the isthmus of the Fallopian tube were undertaken in oestrous rabbits. The ciliation of the ampullary epithelium at 24 and 70 h post coitum was greater than that at oestrus. Ciliation of the isthmus remained unaltered at 14 and 24 h, but had increased at 70 h.
