Studies on the use of benzyladenine and plastic bags in carrot storage

, : Studies on the use of benzyladenine and plastic bags in carrot storage. Korean Journal of Horticultural Science 7: 79-83

Benzyladenine at 6 p.p.m. was effective in maintaining colour and delaying deterioration but it did not prevent weight loss; the carotene conyent was highest and the reducing sugar lowest under this treatment. Non-perforated plastic bags were used successfully for long storage, and at room temperature carrots in plastic bags lost 2% of their weight in 25 days.
