In a field test in Karnataka, India, in 1970-71, eight insecticides were applied in granules (or in one case as a liquid) at 3.5 kg/ha to the soil round the bases of the plants four weeks after planting against larvae of Chilo infuscatellus Sn. on sugar-cane.
