Studies on the use of polythene in the cold storage of fruit and vegetables. VIII. The regulation of controlled atmosphere storage conditions by the use of plastic films

, : Studies on the use of polythene in the cold storage of fruit and vegetables. VIII. The regulation of controlled atmosphere storage conditions by the use of plastic films. Kagawa Daigaku Nogakubu Gakuzyutu Hokoku 24(2): 163-169

In laboratory experiments polythene film was used successfully to regulate the gas composition in storage chambers and cellophane film to regulate the humidity. Changes in the thickness of the polythene provided a good coarse adjustment for gas composition whereas changing the flow of air through the system provided a satisfactory fine adjustment.
