Studies on the utilization of natural enemies as 'biotic insecticides'. Mating of Pseudaphycus malinus Gahan and sex of the progeny

, : Studies on the utilization of natural enemies as 'biotic insecticides'. Mating of Pseudaphycus malinus Gahan and sex of the progeny. Science Bulletin of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University 24(2): 157-159

Further studies in Japan on Pseudaphycus malinus Gah., an important parasite of Pseudococcus comstocki (Kuw.), showed that females that had not paired produced only male progeny and that the ratio of females to males in the progeny of females that had paired was about 7:3. Adult males emerged earlier and lived longer than females.
