, : Studies on the variability and correlation of morphological characters in Avena. Bulletin of the Faculty of Agriculture, Hirosaki University Hirosaki Daigaku Nogakubu Gakujutsu Hokoku 12(21): 9-20

The material for this investigation consisted of 100 varieties of A. sativa, two A. fatua lines and one line each of A. barbata, A. brevis, A. byzantina and A. sterilis. In five main stems sampled at random from each variety or line the following were recorded: heading date, number of spikelets and lengths of culm, panicle, basal longest rachis, upper five internodes, upper five leaf sheaths and upper five leaf blades.
