Studies on the variability of Lophodermium pinastri. II. Differences in physiological behaviour

, : Studies on the variability of Lophodermium pinastri. II. Differences in physiological behaviour. European Journal of Forest Pathology 3(2): 112-120

Reports a study of the influence of temperature, pH and vitamins on the growth in vitro of some of the strains of L. pinastri previously isolated, and of their capacity to produce extracellular starch-hydrolysing enzymes. The results confirm the great variability of the species. The fungus will grow in a temperature range between 0 deg and 30 deg C, the optimum varying with the strain between 10 deg and 25 deg , and in a pH range between 3 and 9, with an optimum between pH 4 and 6.
