Studies on the variations of the haemolymph proteins during the adult life of Musca domestica

, : Studies on the variations of the haemolymph proteins during the adult life of Musca domestica. Annales de la Societe Entomologique de France 9(1): 211-217

Separation of the proteins in the haemolymph of Musca domestica L. by electrophoresis on polyacrylamide gel showed that 14 major protein bands, which are designated A-N were present in both sexes. They varied greatly according to the sex, age and diet of the flies. Females fed on sugar only never showed high protein concentrations or variations in electrophoretic patterns with ageing.
